Writing a fantasy novel is more than just writing a book.

It’s building a whole new world from scratch.

From inventing mythical creatures to designing complicated magic systems that bend reality in ways readers have never seen before, fantasy authors are writers who create brand new worlds and ecosystems around their stories. With unparalleled freedom to worldbuild, a trend toward sprawling epics with the highest allowable word counts in the industry, and hungry readers of all backgrounds and demographics, the possibilities are near limitless.

But that doesn’t mean an author can write whatever they want without consequence. A reader’s enjoyment of any novel is governed by their ability to suspend their own disbelief. That means if your world of wizards, fairies, demons, and evil empires isn’t believable, then everything falls apart. And if making the impossible feel possible doesn’t sound difficult enough, then how about relatable characters who fit in their world? Or plots that feel both grounded in our reality and fantastical at the same time?

Writing a fantasy novel is about making a world of magic and fictitious lands feel real, while at the same time adhering to the often rigid standards of whatever level of publication an author wishes to pursue. Feeling overwhelmed? Curious to know more? Eager to learn? Then this course is for you.

Let’s make your world a reality.
